Large-scale Russian Attacks Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city experienced intense attacks overnight. A minor died and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks come after nights of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
